Loft Conversion Types
There are many different loft conversion types however the majority of loft conversions fall into four categories as list below:
Dormer
A dormer loft is normally required when there is insufficient space within the loft area. A dormer loft creates extra headroom by extending vertically through a sloping roof. Ideal for extending small loft areas or for making maximum use of the available space. A Dormer loft conversion is generally used on terrace houses.
Mansard
A Mansard loft conversion is positioned to the rear of the property. It combines a flat roof at the peak of the property with a rear sloping wall.Ideal if you’re looking for a stylish way to add extra room
Velux
A Velux loft conversion makes use of the available loft space and is built around the roofline. If you have sufficient space then a velux loft conversion creates less hassle and tends to require no planning permission. Ideal if you’re looking to add an extra room to your property like an office or bedroom
Hip To Gable
Hip to gable is a process we use to gain maximum loft space within semi detached and detached properties. We then combine this with a rear dormer to guarantee maximum spacial gain.
